Farewell to Angarrack

Alan and Sam would like to thank all our friends in Angarrack for a great 12 months. We are sorry to be leaving such a welcoming community and if it were not for such a once in a lifetime opertunity in Wales would have stayed a long time.

Thank you all for the gifts and wishes and we wish all at Angarrack a sad farewell.

Nine hours of talks but no verdict

After the Strategic Planning committee's mammoth meeting to discuss the Hayle Supermarket options (see Nine hours of talks but no verdict | thisisccornwall.co.uk) things are not much clearer, though two things do seem clear -  read more »

Hayle is home to war of the supermarkets, while mayor believes none should succeed

Hayle is certainly poised on the brink of a huge decision which will affect the town for the next 50 plus years. The GVA Grimley report states both that a supermarket will lead to a 30% loss in trade and that one is desirable to prevent retail leakage. Steam Train to cross Angarrack viaduct 26/28 June?

Apparently there's going to be a Steam Heritage tour at the end of June.

It would be great if one of the photographers in the village could capture the train crossing the viaduct.

I think the schedule is going west on Saturday 26th June and returning east on Monday 28th June.

The road to the lights...

There are numerous fund raising events throughout the year - the duck race being very popular!  Essential maintenance is carried out round the year too to keep the lights working.  Around November the lights are brought out of storage and Santa's 'Elves' start to move them to their opersting positions for the great day.
