IT WAS pretty poor weather for ducks this Saturday but nonetheless a great time was had by all at the Angarrack Duck Race.

There wasn't a drop of rain in sight for the annual event, which raises money for the village's Christmas lights.

A number of races were held for different age groups and the winners were Alex, Daisy, Ella C, Martin T and Steph, with Steph being crowned the overall winner in the final race, which pitted the champions against each other.

The event, which is organised by the Angarrack Christmas Lights Committee, raised around £300 for the festive decorations and attracted about 100 people.

Alongside the race there was also a barbecue, crêpes, a bottle stall and a raffle.

One of the organisers, Russell Clarke, said it was a day for the community to come together.

"It gives everyone in the village the chance to come and see everyone else," he said.

"The sun shone gloriously."
