A FAMILY who moved to Angarrack a year ago have thanked the community for making them feel at home.

Steve Hall, his wife Lynne and their children Adam, Peter and James, had always dreamed of moving to a traditional Cornish village from their previous home in Yorkshire.

Having fun at the Angarrack Inn is Steve Horne, Luke, Julie Horne, Ali, Marin and Steve Hall.

They first moved to Camborne but had always wanted to live in Angarrack although Mr Hall said they were worried the reality might not live up to the dream and that they might not fit in.

Mr Hall said: "With a village pub at the hub of the community the dream is complete but all too often the dream is broken.

"You wake up to find everyone keeping themselves to themselves, constantly moaning about the weather or their neighbours and how much better it used to be in the olden days."

Luckily for the Halls they soon found out this was not the case in Angarrack. The family said they have had fantastic support from the community and feel as if they have been there for years.

"Much of this has to be down to Steve and Julie Horne and their amazing family who run the Angarrack Inn," said Mr Hall. "I have never been to a pub where you feel part of the family in such a short time."

Mr Hall said the pub was a centre of local life in a village where everyone works together.

He added: "Within a few weeks I had joined the darts team – it's the taking part that matters – and was just what I needed."
