Angarrack Village, near Hayle in Cornwall is famous for its railway viaduct and of course its popular Christmas display.

Angarrack Christmas Lights started several years ago, but really started to grow when rope lights were introduced after the flooding of the village during New Year 2003.

Each year more lights are added. Most of these are funded by donations.

The grand switch on will take place on Saturday 5th December 2009 at 7.30pm.

There are a variety of lights, many of which are animated and there is a sequence of the Twelve Days of Christmas.

The main lights are designed and made in the village and are unique to Angarrack.

Residents also add their own lights - either special commissions like the enormous Merry Christmas and Nadelek Kernowek on Steamers Hill, the exotic Flamingos off Grist Lane or the Cherry Trees Garden Supplies advert in Riverside - as well as smaller lights including deer displays.

Visitors to the village are encouraged to give donations. They are then guided through the village to enjoy the lights, either by car or on foot.

Angarrack can be found just outside Hayle in west Cornwall.
