Photos from Hayle Town Council's post
We are pleased to confirm that the work to the accessible toilet on Hayle Recreation Ground has been completed and it is open for use. The neighbouring toilet will be open imminently, we're just waiting on a couple of parts. The refurbishment work includes new wallgates (washing and drying facilities), toilets, grab rails, panelling and flooring.
We think you'll agree that our in-house maintenance team, who completed much of the work in order to keep costs down, have done a grand job. Have a look at the before and after photos! Overall, much fresher and easier to maintain and clean.
Let's look after them folks!

In recognition of his years serving on the council from 2009 culminating in a term as Mayor between 2019 - 2021, Hayle Town Council remembers Clive Polkinghorne, who has sadly passed away. Our thoughts are with his friends and family. A minute's silence will be held at the next Full Council Meeting. RIP.

Sand Removal
Sand Removal
In response to the concerns of the community, Hayle Town Council convened a meeting with representatives of the Environment Agency, Natural England, Cornwall Council, Hayle Harbour Authority and the North Quay Developers. This meeting was held in October 24 and the objective was to establish fact and whether or not the the removal of sand was legal and to consider this against any impact to the environment.
All parties went away to further research and determine the legal position. It was agreed to meet again last week. Due to external factors, beyond Hayle Town Council's control, the meeting was postponed but an alternative meeting has been scheduled for the first week in February.
Representatives of the above bodies, and a representative for the local MP, will be in attendance. It is anticipated by that stage, all parties will be able to speak with more clarity and share the work that has been going on behind the scenes.
Please be assured that Hayle Town Council is proactively engaging with all relevant bodies and will present information to the public when it is in a position to.

Town Councils Launch Pioneering West Cornwall CCTV Partnership to Keep Communities Saf | Hayle Town Council
The Town Councils of St Ives, Penzance and Hayle have celebrated the official launch of an innovative CCTV initiative. The partnership will monitor and manage up to 40 cameras in the three town centres from a single control centre, based in St Ives.
Faced with the closure of the Cornwall Tolvaddon control centre, St Ives Town Council Cornwall , Hayle Town Council and Penzance Council who each own their town centre CCTV system, were asked to find an alternative solution. The three councils have worked together with local security contractor Infinitus to set up a new partnership from the bottom up. The partnership will ensure live monitoring and maintenance of the systems is delivered locally. It will also provide for closer working with the local police sector which covers the three towns.
Councillor June Lawrenson-Reid (Mayor of Hayle Town Council) said
“We are delighted that we have been able to establish this new West Cornwall partnership and to continue to deliver this essential service, following Cornwall Council's withdrawal. It is a good news story in terms of community safety for the local residents and businesses and we have every confidence that this new collaboration will be more flexible and suited to the needs of the three towns. Lots of hard work has gone into this initiative, and we appreciate the work of the Town Clerks and their teams and Infinitus to getting us to this point.”
