Shipwrecked by the banks: Like so many seaside towns, St Ives and Hayle rely on cash to keep afloat. Now, branch and ATM closures have left them high and dry
- Bank branches are shutting at a rate of 55 a month across the UK
- Lloyds will close its branch in Hayle, Cornwall, leaving the town without a bank
- Shopkeepers fear tourists will go elsewhere, while the elderly face long journeys
