It is hard not to be a little cynical about the future of Hayle if you are resident.

We have been promised much over past decades and seen most promises fail to bear fruit. We must have cornered the market in artists' impressions and feasibility studies but we still confront a wretched wasteland where any self- respecting town would have a captivating waterside development in harmony with the stunning seascape.

Harvey’s Foundry Trust Needs YOU!

After 10 years of hard work Harvey’s Foundry Trust is in a position to support a heritage and cultural centre in Hayle.

We have a great design team on board and with the support of our board members and local historian Brian Sullivan we are ready to take this exciting development forward.

The centre will tell the story of the history of Hayle through a core exhibition that will be free and open to the public as well as exhibitions, events, summer workshops for the kids and guided walks and tours around Hayle.

TWO giant sluice gates have been craned into their new home in Hayle today.

The 11-tonne gates, which used to be operated alongside the town's swing bridge, were uncovered in July 2011 during excavations for the new road at North Quay and stored at construction company Carillion's compound.  read more »
