St Michael’s Hospital

As you are probably aware by now, St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle is once again under threat, after an independent report has said it is at risk of closure.
Despite an ageing population, Cornwall Council has less money to spend on greater numbers of older people. Once our hospital closes, that’s it – we will all have to go to Treliske in Truro, like it or not.
Over 30,000 of us marched in support of St. Michael’s in 2006, the last time it was being proposed for closure. Don’t stand by and watch this happen – write to your M.P., sign petitions, make your voice heard somehow. If all else fails, we can all get out our walking boots again
