Submitted by webmaster on Mon, 01/03/2021 - 01:00.
ANGARRACK A thanksgiving service was held in the Wesleyan Church, Phillack, on Feast-day, Nov. 21, to commemorate the completion of the payment of the debt incurred for the two new vestries lately added to the school premises.
A sum over £285 has been raised, and the connexional authorities, ever will to aid struggling societies, generously gave the last £20, making over £305 in all. Mr. C. Harris, the trust secretary, arranged the concert, and singers and musicians readily responded. The Rev E. A. Stead, supt, minister, suitably expressed in his speech the good work done. The church was filled, seats down the aisle being over ninety stayed to supper, most of the provisions for which had been generously given. Over £6 was realised, which provide for a brick wall in lieu of the old stone hedge removed.
