Cornwall Council’s Planning, Housing and Regeneration Service is currently seeking views on three important documents, which will aim to inform and guide development across Cornwall over the next 20 years: 

  • Renewable Energy Landscape Supplementary Planning Document

  • Mineral Safeguarding Development Plan Document (DPD) Scoping

  • Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) Scoping

The consultation period runs from Friday 8 November until 5pm on Friday 20 December 2013.

All documents may be viewed on the Council’s website (website addresses below). The documents are available for inspection at the following locations:

Renewable Energy Landscape Supplementary Planning Document

Cornwall Council has a responsibility to support the development of renewable energy generation while maintaining one of our most valuable assets – the landscape. With this aim the Council is developing guidance, in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2012, to help manage the distribution of wind and solar farms in the landscape.

  • Comments should be provided on a feedback form and emailed to renewableenergy@cornwall.gov.uk or posted to Planning Delivery Team, Cornwall Council, Carrick House, St Clement Street, Truro TR1 1EB, with the document you are responding to clearly identified within your correspondence.

Mineral Safeguarding Development Plan Document

There is a need to provide specific detailed information and policy on mineral safeguarding, and a Scoping document has been prepared, in accordance with regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, which is the first stage towards producing the DPD.

Allocations Development Plan Document

A Scoping document has been prepared, in accordance with regulation 18 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012, which sets out what would be covered by the Allocations DPD.  Feedback in sought on the intended nature and scope of the document, which will allocate and provide greater detail on strategic sites for different uses such as housing, employment, retail and infrastructure, as well as safeguarding important employment sites.
