HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week.  Today, Thursday September 15, at 10am there is History and Writing then at 2pm the Social event "The Seven Deadly Sins of Estate Planning (Wills etc)" with Trevor Worth takes place.  On Tuesday September 20 at 10am there is Art then at 2pm Poetry Reading. All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre.  The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

TABLE TOP SALE:

There will be a Table Top Sale at the Connor Downs Institute on September 17 from 10am until 1pm in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care (St Julia's).  Admission is free and includes coffee, tea and biscuits!  Come along and support the local hospice.  There will be lots of items to browse and buy.

BARN DANCE:

Come and have a knees up this Saturday, September 17, from 7pm to 10pm at a Barn Dance in Phillack Church hall with Sonas Bannas Band and caller.  Only £5 including refreshments;  book with Linda Mayfield on 01736 754622.  If you do not want to dance - come and watch!

QUIZ:

Hayle Twinning Association is holding a quiz night at the Olde Quay House on Wednesday September 21 at 7pm for a 7:30pm start. Everyone is welcome as this is open to all comers so come along and have some fun £2.50 p.p.

teams of up to four persons. Prizes and Raffles. Hope to see you there!

HAYLE FILM CLUB:

Mustang.  On Thursday September 22 at 7.30pm

This award-winning Turkish film was nominated for the foreign-language Oscar. Five sisters are confined at home by their family and prepared for marriage as they come of age. Their rebellions take various forms, as the stakes grow ever higher. Subtitled.  As ever, at the Passmore Edwards Institute, house lights down at 7.30pm. ANGARRACK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS:

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Angarrack Christmas Lights and so their committee has applied for Marks & Spencer energy funding to extend the lights further round the village and their project is now live on the M&S website. They have to get as many votes as possible to win the funding. Please follow the link below to vote for them. If you can, share it, send it to friends and get others to vote too!

ST ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Sunday September 18, the Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Clifton at 9.30am.

On Wednesday September 21, Said Eucharist will be celebrated at 10 am. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Mass was celebrated at 6.30pm on Saturday when the readings were from Cappadocians - Philemon and gospel by Luke.

Mass this Friday, September 16, will be at 12noon

Work has now started on the building at the rear of the church.  The work is expected to take many months.
